Heads-Up Strategy: The Re-Raise/Shove Routine

I love this strategy for heads-up games. I call it the re-raise/shove and it works like a charm on close to ANY board with close to ANY hand. As long as you only use it once or twice it’s extremely powerful. I usually pick my AK to AT kind of hands for this move, and usually like to have a chip lead to put a lot of pressure on my opponent…

It obviously helps that I made a pair in this hand, but it really is irrelevant. Your opponent will have a hard time calling you with bottom/middle pair, and even if he does you still have your good old overcards… Same goes for opponents calling your re-raise with pocket pairs when overcards flop…

I realize you’re risking a lot of chips, but that’s the whole strength of the play, so…
